Oracle Card - Crystal Cave

The Sacred Forest Oracle Deck and Guidebook by Denise Linn is the source of this month's oracle card. Two dear friends and I have been working with this deck every morning for the last few months and I wanted to share it with you. It’s been wonderfully enlightening and helpful to us as we choose our respective card and then reflect on it for the day - or throughout the day, I should say. The messages are clear and simple, yet profound concepts to walk with through a busy day.

While the deck is not specifically Celtic, its theme of energy portals that open us to higher consciousness is Celtic. Reverence for nature, ancestral and animal spirits and sacred places are as well.

Today's card,  the Crystal Cave, is about trust. Notice the picture shows a woman gazing into the intense light of a crystal as she sits in an otherwise dark cave. Just the mere notion of walking into a dark cave requires a level of trust, for it is always risky to walk into the unknown, into darkness, or uncertainty. Yet, paradoxically, there's a safety with being inside a cave that draws us in.

Our author reminds us that “trust is the foundation of the ability to manifest.” We have to believe that something is possible. We have to take that risk to dream, create, or even simply initiate.  In the picture above, the safety of the cave allows the witch to connect her inner light and wisdom with the crystal's light, which brightens and amplifies her energy and intuition.

We need not literally find a cave, but we do need to find or create a space where we can feel safe--safe to dream, to focus on what we want, to listen to the soul’s yearnings. We can remind ourselves to trust in our own power and guidance. Then, whether we look into a crystal, read a favorite poem, or offer a prayer, we can gather the energies of creation to bring forth what is in need for our highest good, trusting that ‘the arc of the universe will bend toward justice and that “all will be well.”
