Alignment

Remember the words to Aquarius from Hair:

When the moon is in the seventh house

And Jupiter aligns with Mars…

I had never thought much about how the stars and planets align and what that might mean for my life and the life of our planet until that song came out. The ideas from the play seemed fanciful. Now, the Age of Aquarius is truly upon us. In the last month, there was tremendous celestial activity: three eclipses. All were streamed for the world to see as well as the streaming of summer solstice from Stonehenge and a number of other Celtic ancient sites in alignment with the sun. Add to this that the solar eclipse created a powerful Ring of Fire in the Southern Hemisphere was also streamed. And, then last night we had another lunar eclipse. The  power of the skies was not to be ignored.

How did our ancestors know to build monuments and temples, (sophisticated observatories actually) that vividly brought the light of sun or moon or planet through at exactly the right time? I don’t know, but I do know they were somehow tuned into the skies. The floor of the lobby of Irish National Museum at Trinity in Dublin has a beautiful mosaic of the Zodiac and reminds us that astrology and astronomy were merged in earlier days before we divided science and metaphysics. We will never know precisely what the Ancients knew about the Heavens, but we do know they took stock, they celebrated these activities and they worked with the planetary energies in significant ways.

The esoteric adage “As above, so below” tells us that every level of existence has similar patterns and dynamics. The triple spiral at Newgrange makes a statement about one of those patterns-cycles- and reminds us of our life cycle, as well as the lunar and solar year, and the spiral of the galaxy itself.

A slipped disc made me painfully aware of the need for body alignment, beginning with spinal alignment with the help of a chiropractor. I since have experienced additional healing modalities that help align the mental, emotional, etheric (energy) and spiritual body as well. And as a consultant, I helped organizations align their vision, mission, and goals at every level.

However, it was at a Celtic circle where I felt the power of alignment and saw how all these pieces came together. Shiftnetwork.com is offering a wonderful program by Jane Burns that looks at alignment thru the lens of Celtic tradition including the four elements and the three cauldrons (Head, heart, and belly).  If you wish to go deeper into this work, I highly recommend this program or any of Jane’s offerings. Meanwhile…

May you be aligned to the flowing energies of the Universe.

May you align yourself to your true purpose.

May you be aligned in body, mind and spirit in whatever you do.

Blessed Be.
