Another Lover and Chronicler of the Stones

celtic spirit stone circle blog

It is so exciting to find someone who shares your passion. I recently received an email from someone who had discovered my book Amidst the Stones of Celtic Ireland with a similar passion to mine for these sites of mystery and wonder. He sent some awesome pictures and briefly shared some experiences.

I ordered his book that very day. The author is Patrick Ford, the book is Stone Journals Journeys to the Stone Circles of Europe.  The book came today and I am beyond excited. Although paperback, the book is coffee table size and has glorious pictures black and white and color as well. I love seeing those places I have visited documented and chronicled so well. Then there is the feeling of being drawn into the places I have yet to see.

I did a great deal of research for my travels to Ireland, England, and Scotland and even more to write my novels and travel books. Had I had this book, that work would have been so much easier and fun. Yet, even after so much previous exposure to information on the stones, I enjoyed reading Patrick’s take on the places I already knew. He also brought my attention to new sites that I cannot wait to visit.

Patrick has agreed to be a guest blogger, look for his blog next week.. In the meantime, I highly recommend his book to those of you who also have a passion for stone circles.

I close with the last lines of the text on his back cover:

Along the way, Patrick challenges the “rational mind” to open to possibilities they might not normally accept. Whether he is talking to locals, dowsing for energy lines, or conversing with a stone, the joy of this book is in the journey. And, as Patrick says, “There is much to be learned in the company of the stones”.

Wow!
